Barcamp Tamale 2016 is a free networking forum bringing people together for a day of learning, sharing, networking and mentoring. It will take place on July 30, 2016 at the GNAT Hall, near Choggu roundabout in Tamale. The theme for this year is “Empowering the youth for a productive nation”.

The GhanaThink Foundation has successfully organized 59 Barcamps in Ghana as part of itsBarcamp Ghana program since 2008. BarCamp Tamale 2016 will be a showcase of leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators in the Northern region. Discussions will center on empowering the youth for better development across all sectors. It will be an event for many people who live and are interested in Tamale to learn, share and network. This 6th Barcamp in Tamale would focus on empowering people so that we can be more productive as individuals and as a nation.

Tuamunn Camynta-Baezie who heads ‪#‎TigoGhana‬'s Strategy for Northern Territory (Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions) would be speaking about Tigo Ghana's new CSR project automated birth registration system. The Barcamp will feature multiple user-generated breakout sessions about business, social entrepreneurship, technology and development, alongside topics relevant to the Northern Region and beyond. There will be a speed mentoring session where mentors will give insights and answers to questions from attendees. Some confirmed mentors include Yaw Adu-Gyamfi (CSI Ghana), Carole Donkers (Talent Beyond Limits), Abdul-Mumin Yussif (Curator of Global Shapers Tamale Hub), Ibrahim Mustapha (Motivational Speaker), Ruka Yaro (Mandela Washington Fellow), Nana Kyei (Wear Nation), Nafisa Adams (Beads of Hope), Innocent Kafembe (UNICEF Ghana), Senyo Kpelly (SEKAF Ghana), Hikmat Baba Dua (Mandela Washington Fellow), Udit Shetty (Zaina Lodge), Peter Kwarteng (Tigo Change Leader) Arnold Mashud Abukari (HyperLink GH), etc.
